Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA) bagged first runner-up Award for the Category of Innovative Studies Programme Curriculum at the Innovative Curriculum and Delivery Design 2018 (AKRI 2018) at the Movenpick Hotel & Convention Centre on 14 December 2018.
Amir Shahlan Amiruddin, the Dean of FCA received the award from Yang Berhormat Maszlee Malik, the Minister of Education. Also attended the ceremony were MMU Vice President of Academic and Internationalisation, Prof. Dr. Ho Chin Kuan and the Director of Academic Development for Excellence in Programmes and Teaching (ADEPT), Prof. Neo Mai as the VIP guests.
FCA, was among the five finalists from out of 200 applicants from public and private institute of higher learning (IHLs) institutions for this category. For the final round, the finalists were required to pitch their best practices to a panel of judges and eventually, FCA, which representing MMU emerged as the first runner-up.
AKRI 2018 aims to identify, recognise and be a best practice sharing platform for projects and initiatives that have been implemented either at the institutional or individual level in redesigning higher education in Malaysia. The participation of AKRI was divided into three categories; Innovative Studies Program Curriculum, Transformative Teaching, and Experience of Immersive Learning. For “Innovative Studies Program Curriculum” category, the award is aimed at identifying innovation in higher education programs (at all stages) that successfully produce graduates with high marketability and competitiveness.
