A total of 20 students from Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) and Faculty of Information Science and Technology (FIST) participated in Student Exchange Programme 2018 at Widyatama Universitas, Indonesia for two weeks. The students were accompanied by Ms Sri Kusumawati Mohd. Daud, Ms Siti Zainab Ibrahim as academic visiting scholars and Mr Mohd Najib Osman as accompanied staff.

During the programme, the students were exposed with short courses namely Business Intelligence (BI) and E-commerce by Fakultas Teknik of Widyatama Universitas to the FIST students. The FCM students also experienced two short courses by Fakultas Visual Communication Design in Branding & New Media and Typography Kinetic, where the students were taught on basic typography, the anatomy of the font and many more.

Ms Sri Kusumawati and Ms Zainab were given opportunities to share knowledge and experiences in Bandung. Fakultas Teknik of Widyatama Universitas had organised a public talk session entitled “Research and Innovation (R&I) at MMU FIST Thundercloud Lab”. In her talk, Ms Zainab presented research projects and activities that had been conducted and are currently on-going in FIST Thundercloud Lab owned by Center of Intelligent Cloud Computing (CICC). Meanwhile, Ms Sri Kusumawati presented a talk on the topic of “Pendidikan Kreatif Berkelanjutan dalam Bidang Multimedia” at Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri (SMKN 5), Bandung which was attended by the staff of the school.

It is well acknowledged that this student exchange program provides a unique opportunity for students and staff to acquire knowledge in the international setting of different cultures while exploring new places overseas. At the same time, this program provides a platform for the students and staff of both universities to network and strengthen the existing ties.
