We are proud to announce that our Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) researchers, Prof. Ir. Dr. Sim Kok Swee and Dr. Ervina Efzan Mohd Noor were awarded for their innovations in green projects at the Melaka Green Award 2018 recently. The awards were presented by Yang Amat Berhormat (YAB) Tuan Adly Zahari, the Chief Minister of Melaka at Swiss Garden Hotel in Melaka, recently.
Prof. Ir. Dr. Sim Kok Swee won the Silver Award in the “Green Innovation” category for his project on ‘Design and Develop of a Three-Wheel Scooter”, which is aligned with the mission of the Melaka State Government in protecting the environment from the air pollution. Meanwhile, Dr. Ervina received Bronze Award in the category of ‘Green Project’ for her work on ‘Novel Solar Collector System’, which focuses on saving the energy using the solar system.
The Melaka Green Award is a platform of recognition and appreciation for government and private agencies as well as educational institutions involved in implementing green technology initiatives. With the growing needs of innovation in green technology, clean energy and renewable energy it is hoped that this success will have an impact of emerging innovation within MMU’s community.
