On 22 January 2025, around 40 students, accompanied by two lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), Prof. Ir. Dr. Hezerul Karim and Mr. Haris Lye, attended the Asia International Security Summit & Expo 2025 (AISSE’25), held at the Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC).

AISSE’25 served as a prominent platform for industry leaders from both local and international sectors to showcase the latest advancements in security technology. The summit aimed to highlight the evolving trends in public safety, national security, and security management, offering invaluable insights for participants.

The students also participated in the AISSE’25 Summit Plenary Forum, titled “Securing the Future: Leveraging 5G Technology to Strengthen National Security.” The forum delved into the transformative role of 5G technology in enhancing national security, focusing on its potential to bolster cyber threat detection and response, safeguard networks, and support efforts against online scams and cybercrime. The session was moderated by Puan Eneng Faridah bt Iskandar, Chief Enforcement Officer at MCMC. The speakers for the forum included YB Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil, Minister of Communications, and Mr. Neil Tomkinson, Chief Information Officer of U Mobile.

This event provided an exceptional learning opportunity for MMU students, exposing them to cutting-edge security innovations and equipping them with crucial knowledge on how technology can shape the future of national security.
