An engaging guest lecture on “Manufacturing Risk Management Under ISO9001:2015” was delivered by Mr. Luke Chuah Kah Poh, Quality Director of FOZ One (MYTECH & ASSEMBLY SDN BHD), on 21 January 2025. Organised by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology’s (FET) Industrial Linkage Committee, the talk provided attendees with an in-depth understanding of the significance of risk management in ensuring manufacturing safety and reliability.
Drawing on his 28 years of industry experience, Mr. Chuah shared valuable insights into the risk-based approach outlined in ISO9001:2015. He highlighted its applications in quality frameworks, the importance of proactive risk identification, and its practical implementation from the design stage through to final product delivery.
The lecture was attended by 42 staff and students, including participants from the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours and Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (Robotics & Automation) with Honours programmes. Additionally, students from the Manufacturing and Operations Management subject actively participated, gaining key takeaways to enhance their academic and professional journeys. This industry talk serves as a crucial platform for bridging academic knowledge with real-world industry practices, providing students with valuable skills and insights to excel in their professional journeys. It is hoped that the session offered students meaningful perspectives and a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
