The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) hosted a one-day experiential event titled “INTRODUCTION TO MMU MELAKA ENGINEERING DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES” (PENGENALAN PROGRAM DIPLOMA KEJURUTERAAN DI MMU MELAKA) for St. David’s High School, Melaka, on 20 November 2024. This initiative aimed to spark interest in engineering studies among secondary school students. Organized by the academic staff of MMU’s Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) and Diploma in Electronic Engineering (DEE) programmes, the event was attended by 76 students and 4 teachers from the school.

Under the guidance of lecturers, the students gained first-hand experience with the basics of computer-aided drafting software and 3D printing, providing them with practical insights into essential engineering tools. They also participated in an engaging session on Arduino applications, where they explored programming fundamentals and discovered how mathematical concepts seamlessly integrate into real-world engineering solutions.

The day also featured a campus tour, including visits to the MMU library and faculty laboratories. The robotics automation and VEX robots experience left participants thrilled and inspired, adding an exciting dimension to the event. This well-rounded initiative provided St. David’s students with an exciting introduction to the world of engineering, with the hope of sparking a lasting interest in pursuing engineering studies at MMU Melaka.
