A group of 18 children, aged 6 to 17, took part in a Basic Archery Class organised by the MESRA Club on 20 September 2024 at the Melaka campus. The program was open to both MESRA and non-MESRA members, giving participants a chance to explore the exciting world of archery.

Throughout the session, the children were introduced to the fundamental disciplines of archery, learning about crucial safety protocols and how to handle a bow and arrow in a controlled environment. This hands-on experience provided a safe and enjoyable atmosphere, giving young participants a taste of the sport while developing their skills and confidence.

Beyond the thrill of hitting targets, archery offers a range of benefits for children. The sport teaches focus, patience, and discipline—essential skills for success not only in archery but in everyday life. By encouraging concentration and emotional regulation, archery helps foster self-control and mindfulness. Additionally, it enhances hand-eye coordination, upper body strength, and promotes good posture.

The Basic Archery Class served as a perfect introduction for young archers, blending fun with education. MESRA Club aims to continue nurturing interest in archery among children and is eager to organise more activities like this in the future.
