FCA & Japan Foundation KL Join Hands for the Japanese Film Festival 2024

The Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA) has partnered with the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Japanese Film Festival 2024. The festival is being held from 12 September to 20 October 2024. In this exciting collaboration, FCA proudly saw three of its talented students and one remarkable alumnus selected to mentor a group of 13- to 15-year-olds during the Japanese Film Festival 20th Anniversary Short Film Workshop for Teens with Lim Kah Wai.

A heartfelt shoutout goes to Sumayyah Baithori, Dhia Nafisa Jasmin, Varman A/L Balamurali, and Wong Tuck Hon for their dedication in guiding the teams behind two outstanding short films that premiered in IMAX at TRX Kuala Lumpur on the festival’s opening night. The opening ceremony was a dazzling affair, graced by industry leaders, and the MMU team is honoured to have been part of such a memorable experience.
