The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) recently hosted an inspiring alumni sharing session titled “Shaping Futures: Empowering Students and Emerging Professionals,” which was attended by 27 FET diploma engineering students on 2 September 2024. The sharing session was presented by the alumni speaker, Mr. Khairul Adlan Kamaluddin, a service engineer from Symphony Engineering Sdn. Bhd. Mr. Khairul graduated with a Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering program in year 2013. Later, he pursued a degree in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology majoring in Automotive from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka in year 2023.

Mr. Khairul shared his personal journey experiences from university life to a successful engineering career, offering practical advice on navigating the challenges of the job market, building essential skills, and staying adaptable in an ever-evolving industry. His stories highlighted the importance of continuous learning, networking, and resilience in achieving career goals. During the sharing session, the students had the opportunity to engage with the speaker, asking questions and seeking guidance on how to align their academic pursuits with their professional aspirations. The speaker emphasised the significance of internships, mentorship, and involvement in extracurricular activities as vital components in shaping a successful career path.

The FET Alumni sharing session series is part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to connect students with industry leaders and alumni, fostering a supportive community that helps students and emerging professionals realise their full potential.
