On 27 August 2024, approximately 240 degree and diploma students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) participated in a talk titled “Intellectual Property 101 for Budding Entrepreneurs,” delivered by FOM’s Industry Learning Partner (ILP), Invenxer Sdn Bhd. The event, which took place as part of the Entrepreneurship classes, was organised by lecturers Dr. Mohd Fairuz bin Abd Rahim and Ms. Diyana binti Abdul Mahad @ Abdul Hamid.
The session was delivered by IP consultants Ms. Nursyuhada binti Mohd Syafawi (Executive Director) and Mr. Mohamed Ikhwan bin Shahdzul Bakri (Managing Director). Both speakers bring a wealth of experience from their tenure at the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) before founding their own firm. They provided the students with a deep understanding of various types of intellectual property, real-world industry cases, and practical strategies for protecting their intellectual property.
The talk was also graced by the presence of FOM’s Dean, Ts. Dr. Jinghong (Jimmy) Low, who delivered the opening remarks. Dr. Low emphasised the importance of intellectual property knowledge and encouraged students to safeguard their innovations. This insightful session aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for their entrepreneurial ventures.
