On 14 August 2024, a total of 15 students, accompanied by MMU Career Connect team and lecturer from the Faculty of Applied Communication (FAC) made a visit to CelcomDigi Ai Experience (AiX) in Petaling Jaya. The visit aimed to enhance and expose the students with the AI technological advancements. This state-of-the-art facility, which was launched in July 2024, provides opportunity for students to gain valuable insights of the applications of AI and its impact on various industries.

During the visit, students were guided by Ms Nadirah Najib, a Celcom Digi representative. Within the infinity room, she explained the transformative power of Ai across a variety of sectors. From enhancing agriculture yields through calculative analytics and drone technology to improve the manufacturing processes with robotics and quality control, Ms Nadira Najib showcased AI’s potential. As she described how AI-driven demand projects and route planning increase efficiency, the impact on logistics was clear. Nevertheless, the presentation on AI’s role on building a smart, sustainable and secured cyber city, equipped with services and infrastructure that were intelligent made a lasting impression on the students.

After the fascinating Infinity Room, the group entered the gallery showcase room, the haven for AI advanced cutting-edge technology. This area showcased a variety of gadgets and robots to enhanced working productivity. The incredible Robodog was an excellent example of AI’s useful uses in challenging circumstances. This adaptive robot is designed to handle tasks that are dangerous or difficult for human workers while navigating the intricacies of oil rigs. These examples highlighted the critical role Ai plays in improving procedures and assuring worker safety in a variety of industries.

A tour of the Artificial Farm, which showcased AI’s role in maximising crop growth and internal distribution, brought the visit to a close. This proved how AI could transform supply chain management and agriculture. The students had a fascinating time during their industrial visit to the Celcom Digi AiX Center. It gave students an in-depth knowledge of the practical applications of AI in a variety of industries, encouraging them to think about using it in their own projects.
