50 teachers from the Sepang District Education Department participated in a ‘Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop’ organised by the Faculty of Management (FOM) in July 2024. The workshop was designed to enhance educators’ ability to integrate cutting-edge AI technology into their teaching practices, marking a significant step forward in aligning educational approaches with the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The two-day sessions, led by a dedicated FOM team including Norzarina Md Yatim, Noor Shahaliza Othman, Dr. Abby Ashraff Saprudin, Nor Hazleza Mohamed, and Zulkefly Yusup, equipped participants with the knowledge and tools to leverage generative AI in both classroom settings and broader educational contexts.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to support the Ministry of Education Malaysia’s vision for the 2027 School Curriculum, which focuses on fostering innovation, enhancing the learning experience, and contributing to the character development of students. The program aimed not only to empower teachers but also to build a sustainable community of AI practitioners.

To this end, participants will have access to an online platform for continuous collaboration and support from AI experts, fostering ongoing knowledge sharing and problem-solving. This workshop signifies the university’s commitment to driving educational innovation and preparing both educators and students for a future where digital technology plays a central role.
