On 13 June 2024, students from the Digital Enterprise Management (BDEM) program in the Faculty of Management (FOM) and the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI) embarked on a field trip to the National Institute of Health (NIH) Malaysia. Accompanied by five lecturers, namely Mr. Muhammad Afif Fathullah, Dr. Lilian Anthonysamy, Dr. Anusuyah Subbarao, Dr. Aaron Aw, and Ms. Premylla Jeremiah, the visit focused on exploring the biostatistics and data repository sector at NIH.
During the trip, students were introduced to the e-Biostatistics sector, where they learned about its pivotal role in health analysis through Big Data Analytics, particularly its significance during the COVID-19 pandemic. They also gained insights into the NIH Data Repository System (NIH-DaRS), which facilitates access to open health data, and engaged in discussions on the practical applications of this valuable resource.
