A total of 46 teachers and administrators from National Union of Teaching Professionals (NUTP), largest union for teachers in Malaysia participated in a two-day ground breaking design thinking workshop called ‘Suara Pendidik’ recently. The workshop was a collaboration event by MMU Business School and TMOne, a division of the Telekom Malaysia Group.

The workshop was conducted in an environment of fun and learning came up with several creative outcomes to help address the issue of simplifying and easing school administrative duties for teachers as well as creative methodologies in the delivery of effective teaching to students. The participants who were introduced and exposed to the concept of design thinking for the very first time, found to their surprise, how fast and easily they adapted and internalised the process of design thinking.

Design Thinking presents a systematic way of injecting creativity and innovative thinking in any company. Design Thinking offers highly specific tools and techniques in a simplified manner. These tools are then used to derive the magical inspirational values of DT. It is defined as a user-centric collaborative approach in problem solving. MMU Business School leads by Prof Dr. Murali Raman offers cutting edge Design Thinking approach based on their collaboration and expertise gained from Stanford’s d.school in Palo Alto.
