In the highly anticipated AgriNXT competition 2023, with the aim of tackling agriculture’s real-world challenges with innovative ideas, a team of ambitious and innovative students from the Faculty of Law (FOL) proved their mettle and emerged victorious at the tech competition on 28 December 2023. The triumphant team, comprising Laina Liu Ying Ying, Ameerul Hirzan Bin Asian, Chan Jing Sian, and Rickey John, demonstrated their exceptional skills and ingenuity in presenting a groundbreaking solution that caught the attention of the judges and walked away with a cash prize of RM25,000.
AgriNXT, a collaborative initiative between the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the Ministry of Agricultural and Food Security, and Bioeconomy Corporation, provided a platform for young minds to showcase their ideas in the realm of agricultural technology. This competition also aimed to foster innovation and address challenges in the agricultural sector.
Under the expert guidance of their mentor, Mr. Vincent Chan from the Faculty of Business (FOB), the team’s approach to tomorrow’s sustainable energy needs, specifically addressing the issue of biomass fuel, stood out. Their forward-thinking strategy not only earned them the prestigious title of winners in the AgriNXT competition but also secured them a spot in the upcoming Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture, and Agrotourism Exhibition 2024 (MAHA 2024). This recognition catapults the team into a larger arena, where they will have the opportunity to exhibit their winning solution on a national stage.
As the AgriNXT winners from MMU, guided by Mr. Vincent Chan, gear up for MAHA 2024, their journey serves as a testament to the university’s dedication to producing forward-looking, solution-oriented individuals who contribute to the advancement of society.
Congratulations!
