Multimedia University (MMU) celebrated its 3477 graduates in the 24th Convocation Ceremony at the Cyberjaya campus from 2 December until 4 December 2023. During the first session of the ceremony, the also conferred Permata Awards to graduates from all faculties namely Angie Fu Jia Fang (Permata – ACCA Award), Raja Muhammad Faiz Raja Ismail (Permata- ACCA Award), Lim Min Ying (Permata Award – BEM President Award), Cheah Hang Tzer (Permata – BEM President Award), Tan Jia Hui (Permata – Harold M. Thwaites Creative Multimedia Award), Siddharth Nagappan (Permata – Huawei Innovation Award), Amira Ayeesha Yahaya ( Permata- Liz Kamaruddin Communication Excellence Award), Sarjit Singh Bedi (Permata- Tun Azmi Foundation Award), Wong Tuck Hon (Pasal Production Sdn Bhd Award) and Ong Chee Thong ( Permata Award-FIST).
The ceremony also witnessed the conferment of Chancellor’s Award which was awarded to Lim Min Ying from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), President’s Award to Raja Muhammad Faiz Raja Ismail from the Faculty of Management (FOM). This year, the university conferred two honorary doctorate degrees to two prominent leaders, namely Tun Md Raus Sharif, the Former Chief Justice of Malaysia receiving the Honorary Doctor of Law and Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, the Chairman of Maybank receiving the Honorary Doctor of Management. In addition, for the first time ever, MMU presented the Honorary Permata Dunia Award to the veteran Malaysian actor, Abdul Rasip bin Yahya, also known as Mat Sentol.
Throughout the convocation ceremony, various awards and scrolls were presented by MMU’s Chancellor, YABhg. Tun Dato’ Seri Zaki Tun Azmi, as well as its Pro-Chancellor, YBhg. Academician Prof. Tan Sri Dr. Zakri Abdul Hamid. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU delivered congratulatory speeches to the graduates during the ceremony. Of the 3,477 graduates, there were 951 Diploma, 2,297 bachelor’s degree, 198 master’s degree, and 31 Ph.D. recipients.
