The blended learning practices implemented at MMU has won admiration from the delegates of University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine (GXUCM). This sentiment was expressed during their visit to the Cyberjaya campus for a collaboration meeting with Academic Development for Excellence Programmes and Teaching (ADEPT) unit on 12 July 2018.
Heading the UTAR delegation was Assistant Professor Dr Ngeow Yeok Meng, its Programme Coordinator (Curriculum Development Non-Science and Technology Programmes) and Ms Winnie Er Pek Hoon, UTAR’s Chairperson of Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT). The Guangxi delegation, on the other hand, was led by Ms. Zhu Zhu, its Director of the Department of Teacher Development Centre. ADEPT was represented by its Director, Prof. Dr. Neo Mai, as well as her Deputy Directors, Heidi Tan & Dr. Lee Chin Poo.
The purpose of the meeting was to share teaching and learning strategies, and to showcase MMU’s best practices in Blended Learning strategies. Joining the presentation were ADEPT’s Teaching and Learning Agents (TALENTs), Thong Li Wah, Dr. Leow Meng Chew, Dr. Jimmy Low, Mindy Ng, & Dr. Ian Chai. Overall, it was a lively discussion involving the delegates, who were very impressed with MMU’s innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Prof. Dr. Neo and Dr. Hew of the IDEAL Research Institute shared about the research projects done in the area of teaching and learning.
In summary, the collaboration meeting was a success, as the delegates managed to work out a number of possible future collaborations between MMU with UTAR and GXUCM.
