Recently, the Alumni Committee of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) organised a webinar “Alumni Talk Session with Product Development Engineer”. Ms. Nur Farhanis Anuar from Intel Technology Sdn. Bhd. was invited to share her journey from being an MMU student to a product development engineer in one of Intel’s research centers.

Ms. Nur Farhanis graduated from FET with a Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering in 2013 and a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering majoring in Telecommunication in 2017. Then she joined Intel as a graduate engineer before landing a position as a product development engineer six months later.

In the webinar, Ms. Nur Farhanis shared her wonderful MMU student life with her audience (FET juniors). During university time, she was actively involved in club activities where she gained opportunities to develop her interpersonal and soft skills. She was selected to participate in the ASEAN – India Student Exchange Program under the Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia to India to visit the local universities and learn about the Indian culture and working environment.

She had also participated in many charity programs and worked as the director of the MMU event “Karnival Keluarga Bahagia” which was indeed an eye-opener for her to see things from different angles. All the great experiences that she earned during her student time have prepared her well to embark on a new journey as a product development engineer.

At last, Ms. Nur Farhanis advised all engineering students to learn to build up their communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills during student life before entering the workforce. It is hoped that the students have gained some insights from the alumni speaker and shine brightly as “Permata Dunia”.
