On 17th August 2022, a team from the Faculty of Business (FOB) met with the Microsoft (APAC Worldwide Learning, and Microsoft Malaysia) team to discuss about the possibility of offering the Microsoft certification courses to MMU students and academics. The discussion focused mainly on the Microsoft learning and certification paths, and how to embed the Microsoft courses and certification into MMU programmes starting with Diploma in Digital Business, and Bachelor of Business and Knowledge Management programmes, and then extending to other programmes at MMU.

Microsoft offers Fundamental, and Advanced Role-Based Power BI courses, where one can learn how to do modeling, analyzing data, and build reports and dashboards with interactive visualizations with Power BI. MMU understands the importance of contemporary courses such as Power BI and Data Analytics, in digital and IR 4.0 era, and hence deemed it essential to ensure its students and academics are equipped with the necessary knowledge and certification that enable them to excel and succeed.

The meeting was attended, among others, by Dr. Lye Chun Teck (Dean, FOB), Dr. Ng Tuan Hock and Ms. Nun Shwu Huey (Deputy Deans, FOB), Dr. Hasmida Jamaluddin, and Ms Faezah Othman (Program Coordinators, FOB), Ms. Norizal Abd Latif and Mr. Jae Liew (Program Managers, Microsoft APAC Worldwide Learning), Ms. Shida Binti Zainal Abidin (Leader of Microsoft Education, Malaysia), and Mr. Noor Amirul Bin Noor Azlan (Project Manager, Microsoft Malaysia). It was a great and insightful discussion between MMU and Microsoft Team.
