On 14 April 2018, about 2,500 runners participated in the Multimedia University (MMU) e-Bee Run 2018 at MMU Cyberjaya Campus. The runners, comprised of MMU students, staff and public were flagged off by Mr. Nor Suhaimi Sulung, Acting Chief Human Capital Officer, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and the President of MMU, Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq at the front of Chancellery Building at 7.00 a.m. The e-Bee run featured three categories; Half Marathon (21KM), Competitive Run (10KM) and Fun Run (5KM) around Cyberjaya area. According to Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, the first running event for MMU serves as one of the engagement activities for MMU alumni, students, staff, as well as public to bring togetherness among community and to promote healthy lifestyle.It also supports TM’s campaign on 3s (Sihat, Selamat,Segera). In the 10 KM Competitive Run category, Neo Chi Cyhn won the first place for Open Men; Ken Lam Wai Leong (first place, Men Senior); Dharsini Thanagathurai (first place, Women Open) and Reen Rawaida Zuhdi (first place, Women Senior). For the 21 KM Marathon category, Albert Wijaya secured first place for Men Open; Naresh Kumar (first place, Men Senior), Johana Mohamad Mohamed Nordin (first place, Women Open); Firdiana Fadzil (first place, Women Senior). They received medals and prizes such as portable mobile printer, power bank, gameplay archery, swimming package and voucher from Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq and Mr. Nor Suhaimi Sulong. Organised by Centre for Alumni (CfA), the programme was also attended by Prof. Ir. Dr. Hairul Azhar Bin Abdul Rashid, the President of Alumni Society as well as the VP of Research and Innovation, Ms. Susan Ooi, the VP of MarComm, Mr.  S. Rajaduray, the VP of Finance & Business Venture, Mr. Mohd. Amin Abdullah Sani, Senior Director of Human Capital Management of MMU and Dr. Abdullah Sallehhuddin Abdullah Salim, the Student Affairs Division Director of MMU. Ong Kaw Yean, 28, who won the second place for Women Open category in 21 KM Marathon described the success as a birthday gift as she turns 28 years old on 14 April 2018. The MMU alumni said, she was very happy with the double celebrations in a day. “I was never thought I could win the run because I run just for fun.” A unique runner, Teo Beng Seon, 32, who run with sandals and won second place for Men Open category in 21 KM Marathon, said, it was enjoyable activity where the university and surrounding community get connected. “The cost for my pasar malam slipper is only RM12, but it helps me to win the run,” he said with joy.
