Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, the President of MMU graced the closing ceremony of eSports Fiesta 2021 on 3rd October 2021. Organised by the Students’ Representative Council together with RenTak Dance Club and MMU eSports Club, a total of 250 participants competed in six types of sports namely chess, martial arts, King of Glory, Valorant, League of Legends, and freestyle cardio challenge.
In his speech, Prof. Dato’ congratulated the committee members for successfully organising this virtual competition. He also mentioned that the university has outlined its plan for eSports to go beyond gaming or nurturing gamers in an effort to ensure MMU graduates become key industry players in the field.
On top of that, the winners for each category were also announced during the ceremony. Also following the ceremony via Zoom platform were Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED), Mdm Sri Kusumawati Mohd Daud, Director of Student Affairs Division (STAD), STAD officers, organising committee members, and participants.
