In recognition as a recipient of Top Research Scientist Malaysia (TRSM 2020) conferred by Academy of Science Malaysia (ASM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mardeni Roslee, Deputy Director of Research Management Centre (RMC) and academic staff from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) was invited as a Guest of Honour, International Advisor, and Keynote Speaker at the International Conference on Green Energy, Computing and Sustainable Technology (GECOST 2021), recently. Dr. Mardeni, who is also the advisor of IEEE Malaysia ComSoc/VTS shared his insights on ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) and 5G/6G Networks’.
The conference also featured the other two speakers: Prof. Vasiliki (Vicky) Skoulou from the University of Hull, the United Kingdom, and Prof. Pelin Angin from Middle East Technical University, Turkey. The conference is organised based on vast experience in developing strategic alliances and education initiatives in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, including links with major Asian Universities, which involved global participants from various countries, such as United Kingdom, United States, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and many more. Several eminent research scholars, scientists, engineers, and technologists shared their valuable research, innovations, and experiences in wireless communication, power engineering, signal processing, green computing, artificial intelligence, radar and antenna, and others.
Through this event, Dr. Mardeni received an appreciation that recognises him as an international advisor in furthering and bringing a diversified range of engineering experience in design, development, and management in the IR4.0 field. It also includes research consultation, professional institution, and association in recognised professional organisation, networking, and interaction from public and private sectors as well as the international platforms in the 21st century.
