A total of 17 teams from Multimedia University (MMU), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), and Universitas Pertamina, Indonesia participated in the Ingenious Mind Challenge (IMC) 2021 on the 27th and 29th August 2021. This competition served as an avenue for students from local and international varsities to learn and exchange knowledge for the entrepreneurial-based competition that emphasises on identifying and solving the social problems faced by the disabled community. It also resembles the concept of Start-Up weekend, whereby all participants will undergo a series of training, discussion and ideation sessions, and finally the pitching session over the three days.

The IMC, which is now in its fifth year, was organised by the Faculty of Management (FOM) in collaboration with the Faculty of Management Society (FOMS). This year, the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) had also contributed to the event as sponsors. The programme advisor, Ms. Norzarina Md Yatim briefed the programme to the participants and the training sessions were conducted by Ms. Diyana Mahad and Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad.

As a result, our students emerged as the winners for the pitching session, where Skill. Up won the first prize and walked away with a cash prize of RM300 and a certificate. Meanwhile, other MMU teams namely Silent Ninjas secured second place and Warriors clinched third place. The winning teams received RM200 and RM100 and certificates respectively. The organiser expressed its gratitude to the faculty dean, Dr. Mohd Fairuz Abdul Rahim, staff, and event sponsors for their support in making the event a success!

Well done!
