Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, the President graced the closing ceremony of ACE Summer Programme 2021 in a virtual event on 30 July 2021. The session was attended by more than 100 participants who joined the programme. In his speech, Prof. Dato’ highlighted on university’s role in preparing students to become job creators rather than job seekers. He also expressed his gratitude to alumni entrepreneurs and representatives from big organisations who were involved directly and supported the ACE programme.
The ACE Summer programme was held in six weeks of an intensive experiential training programme in an effort to prepare students and graduates with essential employability skills. The programme also allowed the participants to ideate through the start-up boot camp, to come up with technology-driven solutions via industry handshake, as well as to learn how to sell within the sandbox platform. Not only that, students and young graduates are also able to challenge themselves, and at the same to meet with new friends from different backgrounds.
The programme also helped the participants to build important skill sets in boosting their career prospects and life after university. The programme also encouraged the students to pitch their ideas and stood a chance to win up to RM10,000 pre-seed funding. The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (VP SEED); Dr. Ong Jeen Wei, Director of Alumni Engagement, Career and Entrepreneurship Development (ACE), deans, lecturers and officers.
