The Centre for Alumni (CFA) with Yayasan University Multimedia (YUM) hosted an Alumni Talk entitled “Career Reengineering: from Engineer to Entrepreneur” at MMU Career Connect Lounge recently. Featuring two successful Permata Dunia as speakers, the event was broadcasted via Permata Dunia Facebook live with about 800 viewers during the session and the number kept rising to more than 1,000 viewers when the live event was over.
The first speaker, Mr. Yani Hardinata Hairuddin, class of 2003, who has a degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Electronics majoring in Microwave and Communications from the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), has diverted his career from being an engineer to becoming a successful halal organic chicken producer with comprehensive distribution channels around Malaysia. He is now one of the major players in the halal organic poultry industry. The second speaker, Mr. Johan Irwan Kamarozaman, class of 2006, who has a degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Electronics majoring in Computer from Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), is now a prominent motivator and speaker for his own Leap Leadership Academy training centre.
The speakers shared eye-opening thoughts and insights on career detour that definitely inspired others to view knowledge, not as a ticket for getting jobs but to be used to solve problems for society and the country.
