More than 2000 visitors attended Multimedia University (MMU) Career Fair 2020 on 7 and 8 January at Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya. The two-day programme is an annual effort by the students with the partnership of Graduan and GTI Media from gradMalaysia. With its slogan “Break Barriers, Land Careers”, this event provides an avenue for career opportunities and internships as well as to meet some of Malaysia’s best employers under one roof.

The opening ceremony was graced by Academician Professor Tan Sri Dr. Zakri Abdul Hamid, Pro-Chancellor of MMU.  The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq, President of MMU, Mr. Sharbani Harun, Chief Financial Officer of Technology Park Malaysia, Dr Abdullah Sallehhuddin Abdullah Salim, Director of Student Affairs Division (STAD) and Eyiwin Wong, Director of MMU Career Fair 2020. Mr. Sharbani also conducted a sharing session with the audience during the opening ceremony.

There were over 75 companies participated which representing a variety of industries including engineering, ICT, banking and finance, creative and many more. Maybank, Soft Space Sdn Bhd, Public Bank, Sun Life Malaysia, DHL IT Services, iPay88 Holding Sdn Bhd, Software AG, and Schlumberger were engaged in this fair this year. Apart from exhibition booths, the programme was filled to the brim with ‘Company Talk Session” by Micron Technology, free resume service for job application by Graduan as well as face-to-face interviews during the fair.

The career fair was also enlivened with insightful talks by several eminent speakers including Alfred Leo (Head of Marketing of GTI Media), YB Tuan P.Prabakaran (ECXO Chairman for Sports Wilayah Persekutuan), Dr. Vimala A/P Perumal (Tamil Film Director), Pn Dayana Rogayah Omar (Vice President of Asset Allocation in Khazanah Nasional), Che’ Puan Juliana Evans (Malaysian Entrepreneur) along with other 3 successful figures in sharing insights on Women Empowerment, Views from Professional, What Do Employers Want and How to Balance Professional Life and Student Life. Their career insights and experience would be most helpful to ensure that visitors to the career fair could not only seek for jobs, but also to create them.
