On 7 April 2025, 22 students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) embarked on an enriching educational field trip to the Gardenia Bread factory in Shah Alam. Organised by Ts. Dr. Anusuyah Subbarao, the visit offered students an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the large-scale production of one of Malaysia’s most renowned bread brands.
From the meticulous handling of raw ingredients to the precision of automated baking processes, quality control measures, and streamlined distribution systems, students gained firsthand exposure to the complexities of modern food manufacturing. This experience provided invaluable insights into operations management and supply chain efficiency, bridging the gap between classroom theories and real-world industry practices.
Beyond expanding their knowledge, the trip underscored the importance of industry visits in enhancing learning outcomes, equipping students with practical perspectives that will benefit their academic and professional journeys.
