The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) successfully hosted the I³ Entrepreneur Series on 9 April 2025 at both the Cyberjaya and Melaka campuses. The event featured distinguished industry leaders who shared their entrepreneurial journeys, providing valuable insights to aspiring student entrepreneurs.
At Dewan Tun Canselor, Cyberjaya, students had the privilege of hearing from Mr. YC Chia, Founder of Ticket2U. He shared his inspiring journey from a humble startup to building a multimillion-ringgit enterprise. In 2016, recognizing the need for a comprehensive online ticketing solution, he founded Ticket2U, a platform that offers end-to-end event management services, including ticket sales, registration, RSVP, on-site check-ins, and more. Under his leadership, Ticket2U has expanded its operations to Singapore and Indonesia, becoming a prominent player in the Southeast Asian event management industry. Emphasizing the importance of the execution stage, he highlighted that great ideas alone are not enough—success comes from strategic implementation, adaptability, and perseverance.
Meanwhile, at the Exam Hall in Melaka, students were captivated by the experiences of Mr. Dang Tai Luk, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of MyNews Holdings Berhad. As the visionary leader behind one of Malaysia’s leading convenience store chains, he played a pivotal role in rebranding and expanding the business. Currently, MyNews Holdings Berhad operates more than 600 stores, including 482 myNews stores (with 34 SUPERVALUE outlets), 141 CU Stores, 20 WHSmith stores, and one Maru Coffee outlet. During the session, Mr. Dang shared key insights on business sustainability, branding, and market expansion, inspiring students to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions with passion and resilience.
The I³ Entrepreneur Series continues to serve as a platform for students to engage with industry leaders, gain real-world business perspectives, and cultivate the entrepreneurial mindset needed to navigate today’s competitive landscape.
