On 19 March 2025, Masjid Al-Irsyad was filled with MMU staff, students, and guests, coming together in a warm and meaningful atmosphere for Iftar Perdana MMU 2025 at the Melaka campus. This special gathering aimed to support asnaf and students in need, fostering a spirit of unity, generosity, and compassion.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, delivered an inspiring welcoming address, emphasising the significance of charity and collective responsibility. He highlighted MMU’s commitment to uplifting the underprivileged, reinforcing the university’s role in nurturing a caring and supportive community.

As part of MMU’s social responsibility, zakat contributions were given to asnaf representatives to ease their financial burdens. Additionally, the event featured the presentation of the Ibnu Haitham & Jawhar education sponsorships to selected students, providing them with financial support to continue their studies successfully.

The evening concluded with a Ramadan tazkirah (religious talk) by Al Fadhil Ustaz Mohd Najib Khasim, who spoke on the significance of the holy month and ways to enhance worship. The event fostered a spirit of compassion and unity within the MMU community while providing meaningful support to those in need.

The Iftar Perdana celebration was made even more special with the preparation of “Bubur Berlauk MMU” or BBMMU. Spearheaded by Kelab MESRA, the cooking session brought together 70 dedicated staff members who worked in unison to prepare the signature recipe of Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud. Their teamwork and culinary efforts resulted in a delicious and hearty dish, which was later generously distributed to the university community at Dataran Permata, fostering a spirit of togetherness and shared tradition.

The Iftar Perdana MMU 2025 was a joint initiative organised by Badan Kebajikan Islam Telekom Malaysia (BAKIT-MMU), Human Capital Management (HCM), Student Lifestyle & Experience (STyLE), Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM), the Multimedia University Employee Sport & Recreational Alliance (MESRA) and Masjid Al-Irsyad.
