Corporate Communications Department

MMU continued its cherished annual tradition of Iftar Perdana at the Cyberjaya campus on 24 March 2025, fostering unity and generosity during the holy month of Ramadan. The event, held at Surau Al-Hidayah, was graced by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, alongside students, staff, and members of the surrounding community.

The event began with a special community initiative, Bubur Berlauk MMU, where Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham joined hands with the university community in preparing the traditional dish. Once ready, the delicious porridge was distributed to the MMU community and nearby residents, strengthening the spirit of togetherness and charity.

During the event, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham delivered a heartfelt speech, highlighting the values of compassion, solidarity, and generosity, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan. The occasion also featured the presentation of financial aid to deserving students, reaffirming MMU’s unwavering commitment to supporting its student community. Additionally, through Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM), MMU received a zakat contribution from Bank Islam, ensuring that financial assistance reaches students in need. The event also saw the distribution of Aidilfitri aid by YUM to selected MMU employees, as well as cleaning and landscaping personnel, recognizing their dedication and contributions to the university.

A spiritual highlight of the evening was a tazkirah (religious talk) delivered by Al Fadhil Ustaz Mohd Hariri Mohamad Daud, who shared valuable insights on the significance of Ramadan, encouraging reflection and gratitude before the breaking of fast. The Iftar Perdana @ Cyberjaya beautifully captured the true spirit of Ramadan, uniting the MMU community in faith, compassion, and generosity. Beyond being a moment of togetherness, the event reinforced MMU’s commitment to community engagement and student welfare, ensuring that the values of care and inclusivity continue to thrive.

This meaningful gathering was made possible through the joint efforts of Badan Kebajikan Islam Telekom Malaysia (BAKIT-MMU), Human Capital Management (HCM), Student Lifestyle & Experience (STyLE), Yayasan Universiti Multimedia (YUM), the Multimedia University Employee Sport & Recreational Alliance (MESRA), and Masjid Al-Irsyad, whose collaboration helped create an evening filled with warmth, reflection, and giving.
