A group of students from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM) successfully completed creative projects for the non-profit organization Rainbow Bridges Malaysia (RBM) by producing two videos and one animation aimed at raising awareness about myopia (nearsightedness) as part of their Personal Social Responsibility class in February 2025.

Since August 2023, RBM, in collaboration with the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology (MSO) and the Association of Malaysian Optometrists (AMO), has been running the “Gift of Sight” program to provide comprehensive eye care services to underprivileged and rural children. The NGO’s president and founder, Professor Ong Kok Hai (a retired professor from IMU University), and the class and group advisor from MMU, Prof. Koo Ah Choo, began discussing the video creation service project in mid-2024. This project also received support from Dr. Chan Jan Bond, Consultant Ophthalmologist at The International Specialist Eye Centre (ISEC) in Kuala Lumpur.

Led by Mr. Ronney Teh Kim Ho and Mr. Ng Ren Zhe, the student team worked collectively in three subgroups to develop the videos and animation, gaining valuable experience in design, production, teamwork, and communication. This hands-on project not only strengthened their creative and technical skills but also reinforced the importance of collaboration in multimedia production. The project’s success was made possible through the dedication of all team members: Bryan Roy Richard, Adreana Sofea, Aloysious Wee Zi Yi, Chu Jean Ming, Alyaa Najwa, Alyssa Andrela Goh, Esther Loo Chee Yee, Hervin Raj, Kwan Yu, Liew Zi Zheng, Ng Xin Yue, Ngoo Wan Ning, and Tan Kai Yun.

Well done to the entire team!
