MMU once again played host to the National Science, Technology, and Engineering Innovation Competition (PISTEK) 2025, co-organised with the Sports, Co-Curricular, and Arts Division (BSKK) on 6 February 2025. The closing ceremony also marked the launch of Start-Up STEM 2025, an initiative aimed at fostering innovation among young minds. MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, expressed his gratitude for the continued trust from the Ministry of Education, highlighting MMU’s role in nurturing future innovators and critical thinkers.
The competition brought together secondary school students nationwide, showcasing innovative projects across fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and technology design. PISTEK 2025 not only provided a platform for students to demonstrate their skills but also served as an avenue to identify talents with the potential to compete on the global stage. The simultaneous launch of Start-Up STEM 2025 aimed to guide young innovators in transforming their ideas into viable business ventures, supported by collaborations between the government, academia, and industry.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognising participants’ creativity and innovation. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham also congratulated all participants, emphasising that every contribution plays a significant role in advancing science and technology in Malaysia. He encouraged students to continue learning, creating, and innovating, reinforcing MMU’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
