A group of students from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), known as Group A+++, recently completed their service project as part of the Project Social Responsibility (PSR) course at the Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children Centre (Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal Selangor) in Banting, Selangor.
This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, whose volunteers regularly provide essential care services to the residents of the center. The students participated by learning and assisting in basic caregiving activities, including haircuts, beard trimming, and nail cutting. They quickly adapted to these new skills and successfully conducted two service sessions in December and January 2025.
To support their project, Group A+++ organized a fundraising booth, selling ice cream waffles and lemonade. Their efforts helped sustain the initiative while also fostering teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit.
Led by group leader Afiq Harith and Group Director Tee Zhi Qi, the team members—Mohamad Danish, Chee Hui Jun, McAllister, Isabella Tan, Ng Chun Kiat, Renee Chiah, Lau Xiang Yi, Ammar Aiman, and Arissa Qistina—also documented their journey in a creative video. The production includes interviews with their course advisor, Prof. Ts. Dr. Koo Ah Choo, group leaders, and NGO volunteers. Click here to watch their video.
