Let us extend our heartiest congratulations to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ng Kok Why, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FCI), for winning First Prize at the 9th Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 Teacher Competition (Regional Final). Dr. Ng Kok Why received the award during the 9th Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025 APAC Finals & Award Ceremony, held at Pullman Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 27 February 2025.

The event was co-organised by Huawei APAC and the ASEAN Foundation. The Teacher Competition category saw strong participation from educators across the Asia Pacific region. After a rigorous selection process, 12 exceptional participants were chosen to present their work in person during the event.

These participants represented various countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and more. Malaysia was proudly represented by four universities, namely Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Multimedia University (MMU), and Xiamen University Malaysia.

As a result of his outstanding performance, Dr. Ng Kok Why clinched First Prize, sharing this prestigious honour with UPN Veteran Jakarta, Indonesia. The Grand Prize was awarded to APTIKOM Indonesia, while the Second Prize was shared by three institutions: Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia), the Hong Kong team, and another participating team.
