On 5 February 2025, a group of students from the Faculty of Business (FOB) had the unique opportunity to visit POS Malaysia and the Bank Negara Museum, gaining practical insights into real-world business operations. This visit was organized by Ms. Siow Yung Ern and Ms. Ng Woan Ming, lecturers from the Diploma in Accounting programme.
The day began with an insightful tour of POS Malaysia, the nation’s sole mail service provider. Students observed the end-to-end mail processing system, from letter collection and sorting based on destinations to the loading of mail onto trucks for next-day delivery. A highlight of the tour was an exclusive visit to POS Fulfilment, a service where POS Malaysia assists customers in packing and delivering orders directly from its warehouse. This experience provided students with a hands-on understanding of inventory control and the application of accounting principles in a service-based business environment.
In the afternoon, the group visited the Bank Negara Museum and Art Gallery, where they explored Malaysia’s economic history and financial system. The museum visit featured interactive games and educational exhibitions on financial management, the role of Bank Negara in the country’s economic development, and the latest additions to Bank Negara’s art collection, showcasing works from Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
This dual-industry visit was an invaluable learning experience, bridging the gap between theory and practice. It is hoped that the students gained meaningful insights into real-world business operations, enriching their academic journey and professional aspirations.
