MMU through its Faculty of Engineering (FOE) and Engineering Society, joined forces with the World Robotic Center (WRC) and the Ministry of Education to host WRC 2025 Competition. The event took place on 11-12 January 2025 at Cyberjaya campus. The opening ceremony was graced by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, alongside distinguished guests including Puan Rizawani binti Mustafa, Chief Assistant Director of the Co -Curriculum Development and Excellence Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ooi Che Pun, Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Madam Sri Kusuma Wati Binti Mohd Daud, Director of Student Lifestyle and Experience;  ; Mr. Azam Azhar, Vice President of the World Robotics Center Malaysia and Ms. Najihah ‘Aqilah  Iskandar Al-Thani, President of the Engineering Society MMU and Program Director of WRCC 2025

With the inspiring theme, “Empowering the Future: Robotics for a Smarter World,” the competition attracted participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. These budding innovators demonstrated their ingenuity and technical prowess in seven categories: Sumo Robots, Soccer, Maze Runners, Wi-Fi Car Adventures, Line Tracer, Transporter and Creative Robotics.

The competition served as a dynamic platform to not only showcase exceptional talent but also foster meaningful collaborations among participants from diverse cultural and technological backgrounds. It highlighted the transformative potential of robotics in building a smarter, more connected world. Beyond the thrill of competition, the event also served to inspire innovation, cultivate international networks, and pave the way for future advancements in robotics. It underscored the importance of nurturing the next generation of roboticists to achieve remarkable strides in this rapidly evolving field.
