MMU ushered in the Year of the Wood Snake with a vibrant Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration organised by the Chinese Language Society (CLS) with the support of the Student Lifestyle and Experience (STyLE) and Human Capital Management (HCM) at the Cyberjaya campus on 23 January 2025. The event was graced by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, alongside the university’s senior management, staff, and students, creating a festive atmosphere filled with camaraderie and cultural appreciation.
The celebration began with a captivating lion dance performance, symbolising good fortune and prosperity, setting an auspicious tone for the event. Attendees were treated to thrilling live performances that showcased the richness of Chinese culture, fostering a spirit of unity among the diverse MMU community. To further immerse participants in the festive spirit, interactive activities such as lacquer fan painting, handmade crafts, and Chinese calligraphy were available, allowing everyone to engage in creative expressions of the Lunar New Year traditions.
This celebration served as more than just a cultural festivity; it was a meaningful platform for the university community to come together, connect, and celebrate diversity. The event highlighted MMU’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and cultural appreciation while providing students and staff with an opportunity to create lasting memories as they embraced the joy and traditions of the Lunar New Year.
