MMU and the Malaysia Strategic Trade Control Community (MYSTCC) formalised their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 7 January 2025 at Cyberjaya campus. The MoU was signed by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, and Mr. Cheah Hup Lim, President of MYSTCC. The signing ceremony was attended by a distinguished delegation from the Strategic Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), led by Ms. Vimala Murugan, Strategic Trade Controller.
This collaboration aims to develop a specialised diploma programme that will lead to a degree programme, with a focus on producing Chartered Trade Experts. Additionally, the MoU will open doors to internship programs, offering students hands-on experience, and creating professional development opportunities within the field of strategic trade. The agreement also emphasises the creation of effective engagement mechanisms, such as forums, seminars, workshops, mentorship programs, and research initiatives focused on export control. The partnership between MMU and MYSTCC is expected to spark academic synergies, promoting knowledge exchange and collaborative growth in the field of strategic trade and export control.
