A group of 68 students from the Faculty of Management (FOM), accompanied by lecturers Dr. Wan Noor Elani Wan Azizi, Ms. Nurul Atiah Mohd Zin, and Ms. Fatin Zaida Zaidi, embarked on a meaningful educational visit to Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) on 10 January 2025.

The visit was designed to provide students with a unique and immersive opportunity to deepen their understanding of Malaysia’s financial ecosystem. The primary focus was to enhance their knowledge of monetary policy, financial regulations, and the operations of a central bank, providing practical insights into the nation’s economic framework.

Unlike traditional guided tours, the students enjoyed the flexibility of self-guided exploration of Sasana Kijang’s interactive displays and multimedia exhibits. These state-of-the-art exhibits presented a wealth of information on financial stability, the critical role of central banks, and the historical evolution of Malaysian currency.

Through this hands-on experience, the students gained an in-depth understanding of Bank Negara Malaysia’s vital role in shaping the nation’s economy. They were exposed to financial history, the intricacies of policymaking, and the evolving role of digital finance. Additionally, the interactive and cutting-edge exhibits made complex financial concepts more accessible, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

This visit served as an inspiring experience that went beyond academic enrichment. It provided students with a tangible glimpse into the workings of Malaysia’s financial sector and underscored the significance of financial literacy and economic policies in fostering national growth.

The students left Sasana Kijang with a greater appreciation for the dynamic interplay between financial systems and economic development. The visit was a testament to the FOM’s commitment to bridging classroom learning with real-world exposure, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the financial landscape of the future.
