A team of three talented students from Multimedia University’s (MMU) Special Interest Group (SIG) Mooting achieved a significant milestone early in the new year. The team, comprising Mr. Tan Yu Jian, Ms. Anis Saffiah Binti Ibrahim, and Ms. Nur Syazliyani Binti Sa’ilal, secured the second runner-up position at the Pertandingan Penghujahan Mahkamah Peringkat Kebangsaan Kali Ke-6 2025. Their impressive performance earned them a cash prize of RM1,000, certificate, and a publication from Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP).
The team’s success was made possible through the dedicated guidance of their trainers and mentors from the Faculty of Law (FOL). Mr. Mohd Azizie Abdul Aziz played a pivotal role in training the team, while Ms. Azwina Wati Abdull Manaf contributed to the selection process, ensuring the team’s readiness for this prestigious competition.
Organised collaboratively by the Malaysian Bar Council, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and DBP, the competition featured two categories: Student and Young Lawyer. Held on January 11 and 12 at the Faculty of Law, UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor, the event attracted 26 teams from universities across Malaysia to compete in the student category. The closing ceremony was graced by the Head of the Prosecution Division of the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC), Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Masri Mohd Daud, who officiated the event and presented awards to the winners.
