The Faculty of Business (FOB), in collaboration with the International Collaboration & Engagement Office (ICE), successfully organised two insightful guest lectures on Corporate Finance and Risk Management in December 2024. These sessions aimed to equip students with essential skills for making strategic financial decisions and managing risks effectively, thereby fostering organizational value and resilience. The lectures were conducted by two distinguished visiting professors from the BA School of Business and Finance (Riga, Latvia) and Romania, who brought international expertise to the classroom.
The first session, delivered by the Romanian professor, focused on Corporate Finance. The professor joined Ms. Tay Lee Ying’s class to share her extensive knowledge on the subject. Both sessions were well-received by nearly 60 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Banking & Finance students in attendance, who actively participated and expressed great enthusiasm for the enriching discussions.
The sessions were graced by the presence of the Deputy Dean of Academics (DDA), Dr. Hasmida Jamaluddin, who presented tokens of appreciation to the visiting professors. Among other attendees were Dr. Abdul Aziz Ahmad, Director of ICE, Mdm Hazlaili, Head of the Banking and Finance department and other faculty members.
