Mr. Jack Khiew Jie Nan, an Equities Dealer Manager at CGS International Securities Malaysia and an alumnus of the Faculty of Business (FOB), returned to his alma mater to deliver an insightful industrial talk titled “Lessons in Leadership: From Business Graduate to Equities Dealer Manager.” The talk, held on 17 January 2025, was attended by 54 students and 4 lecturers.

The speaker shared his journey, offering valuable lessons on leadership and career progression, inspiring attendees with his transition from a business graduate to a seasoned professional in the financial industry. Beyond discussing leadership values, the speaker took participants down memory lane by sharing stories from his time at MMU, giving students a unique perspective on how their campus life can shape their future. He also detailed his career journey, providing practical advice on how students can better prepare themselves for workplace challenges and opportunities.

A significant highlight of the session was Mr. Jack’s announcement about internship opportunities at CGS International Securities, encouraging students to explore and apply for this valuable program. His insights into the CFA program and his personal experiences with its rigorous process offered both students and lecturers a deeper understanding of the certification and its benefits in the financial industry. The enthusiasm among the attendees was palpable, with students actively engaging in a Q&A session, asking insightful questions that further enriched the discussion.

Following the talk, Mr. Jack also visited the iTRD Lab, a collaborative initiative between CGS International and MMU. This visit emphasized the strong partnership between CGS International Securities and MMU, showcasing the potential for more collaborative opportunities in the future. It was a proud moment for the university to host a Permata Dunia who now plays a significant role within the CGS International group.
