The Faculty of Business (FOB), in collaboration with the Inland Revenue Board Malaysia (IRBM) Melaka, successfully hosted Accounting Fest 2025, a three-day event from 7 to 9 January 2025. Tailored for accounting students, staff, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the event offered a dynamic blend of insightful programmes and engaging activities.

The festival featured several highlights, including the E-Invoice Seminar, where participants gained essential knowledge about digital invoicing, equipping them with tools to navigate the rapidly evolving digital economy. An Industrial Talk, featuring industry experts from IRBM and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), provided students with valuable insights into current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the accounting and taxation fields. Another standout feature was Taxplorace, a lively and interactive competition where diploma and degree accounting students demonstrated their tax knowledge in an entertaining and team-based challenge.

The attendees also enjoyed a variety of community-centered activities that enriched the festival experience. Food vendors offered delectable treats, while a blood donation drive and complimentary dental check-ups underscored the event’s commitment to health and wellness. The vibrant atmosphere fostered networking and collaboration among participants, further solidifying the event’s success. All in all, the event has set a new benchmark by bridging the gap between academia, industry, and the community. It stands as a testament to FOB’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, industry-ready graduates while fostering meaningful connections within the broader community.
