The Learning Institute for Empowerment (LIfE), through its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) committee, organised an enlightening sharing session titled “What is Melaka Green Technology All About? How Can MMU Students and Staff Practice Sustainability?” at Melaka campus on 4 December 2024.

The session featured an engaging presentation by Ms. Faiqah Nadhirah Faizol, Head of the Technical Unit at Melaka Green Technology Corporation, who delivered the talk on behalf of Ts. Mohd Hafizam Mustaffa. The speaker provided valuable insights into the corporation’s ongoing initiatives and strategic goals aimed at advancing sustainable practices throughout the state of Melaka.

Participants gained practical knowledge on how MMU students and staff could actively contribute to sustainability efforts including conserving water and energy on campus, participating in recycling programs to minimise waste, and adopting eco-friendly commuting options such as cycling or carpooling. The session also encouraged attendees to engage in sustainability-driven projects and campaigns that align with Melaka Green Technology’s principles.

The event was also attended by Dr. Rohaidah Mashudi, Deputy Director of LIfE, along with other faculty members and staff. The event served as a vital platform for fostering awareness about sustainability, inspiring collective action, and cultivating a culture of green practices within the MMU community.
