FOB Student Wins Double Medals at Southern Tiger Open Taekwon-Do Championship 2024

Andrew Tang Jia Hong, a Foundation in Business student from the Faculty of Business (FOB), has made an exceptional mark at the Southern Tiger Open Taekwon-Do Championship 2024 in November 2024. Competing in the Male Black Belt Category (age 18 and above), Andrew Tang triumphed by securing a gold medal in Individual Sparring (weight 69-74kg) and a bronze medal in Individual Patterns (1DAN).

The Southern Tiger Open, organised by the Persatuan Taekwon-Do Johor (ITF-MTF) and supported by Malaysian Taekwon-Do Federation, attracted over 180 participants from across Malaysia. As one of the country’s most prestigious annual Taekwon-Do events, it offers a valuable opportunity for practitioners to refine their skills, exchange insights and celebrate their shared passion for the martial art. Andrew Tang’s impressive performance not only highlights his commitment and skills but also brings immerse pride to the MMU community and the wider Taekwon-Do family.
