A groundbreaking project led by Ts. Dendi Permadi from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), titled “Immersive VR Painting Art Experience: Johor Through the Eyes of an Artist,” was exhibited at the recent Putrajaya Festival of Ideas (FOI) 2024.

Held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) from 27 to 29 November 2024, the festival served as a flagship initiative organised by the Ministry of Higher Education to foster intellectual discourse, celebrate innovation, and position Malaysia as a global hub for knowledge and creativity. It brought together thought leaders, policymakers, and academicians to address global challenges and envision a prosperous, sustainable future for Malaysia and beyond.

With the theme “The Malaysian Success Story,” the festival positioned Putrajaya as the “City of Ideas” and aligned with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI and the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP). Ts. Dendi’s innovative project utilized immersive virtual reality (VR) to bridge art and technology, offering a captivating representation of Johor’s cultural and artistic heritage. This pioneering initiative underscores MMU’s unwavering commitment to pushing creative boundaries and advancing new frontiers in education, art, and technology. This event was further strengthened by the invaluable support and coordination provided by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and the Research Management Centre (RMC).

Well done!
