In line with the university’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility, the Social Engagement, Responsibility & Volunteerism (SERVe) unit, under the Student Lifestyle & Experience Department, collaborated with Sekolah Rendah Agama JAIM Bukit Beruang 2 (SRA JAIM BB2) to organise an appreciation event on 10 November 2024 at the Melaka campus.
The event celebrated the outstanding achievements of 16 students who excelled in the Ujian Penilaian Kelas KAFA (UPKK). Attended by the award recipients’ families and school teachers, the ceremony was led by Ustazah Suriyati Anuar, the headmistress of SRA JAIM BB2. The event was further honored by the presence of Ustaz Mohammad Farid bin Kamal, Chairperson of the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) and Religious Officer at Masjid Tun Syed Ahmad Al Haj, Bukit Beruang. The ceremony was officiated by Ustaz Luthfi bin Bakar, a representative from MMU, who presented the awards to the recipients.
The event fosters community development by supporting education and motivating students, particularly in a religious and educational context. By involving local families, teachers, and religious figures, the initiative strengthens community ties while celebrating educational success, which is in line with USR objectives of promoting social good, community empowerment, and academic excellence.
