On 4 November 2024, a delegation from MMU, led by President Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, made a reciprocal visit to Sekolah Menengah Teknik Melaka (SMTM), further reinforcing the strong partnership between the two institutions. Mdm Chan Pek Ling @ Elda, Principal of SMTM, extended a warm welcome to the MMU delegation, marking the continuation of SMTM’s visit to MMU Melaka in October 2024 for the signing of a Letter of Intent.
During the visit, the MMU delegation was given an insightful tour of SMTM’s facilities, including a showcase of student projects, which highlighted the school’s commitment to technical excellence and innovation. This engagement provided an excellent platform for MMU to observe the technical skills and projects developed by SMTM students, potentially paving the way for future collaborations.
The delegation included Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Vice President of Student Experience & Entrepreneurship Development (SEED) and Melaka Campus Director; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ng Poh Kiat, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET); Mdm Nalini Pragasam, Director of the Student Recruitment & Admission Department (SRAD); along with other MMU officials.
This visit reflects MMU’s dedication to strengthening ties with local educational institutions, fostering a collaborative environment that benefits both institutions. It is hoped that the positive relationship between MMU and SMTM will continue to grow, offering valuable opportunities for school students, faculty, and the broader community.
