The Faculty of Business (FOB) hosted a two-day visit from Mr. Tan Guan Seng, an Industrial Advisor from Crowe Malaysia PLT, on 14 and 15 November 2024. This visit was part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to strengthen academic-industry collaboration and enhance the learning experience for its students.
During the visit, Mr. Tan participated in several meaningful activities, including interview sessions with Accounting lecturers and students to discuss academic matters and professional development, class observations to evaluate the integration of practical knowledge into teaching, and a comprehensive review of the Accounting program syllabus to ensure alignment with industry standards.
Additionally, he delivered an insightful talk on sustainability, emphasizing its critical role in today’s business environment and sharing updates on Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) 18 concerning the presentation and disclosure in financial statements. The visit provided valuable insights and guidance, reinforcing the faculty’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates and fostering excellence in education.
