The Faculty of Management (FOM) successfully organised the Social Enterprise Idea Showcase 2024 (SEIS2024) on 24 September 2024, highlighting the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of its students. The event brought together a total of 42 teams comprising degree and diploma students, all of whom are enrolled in the Entrepreneurship subject. Under the theme of “Social Enterprise for a Sustainable Future,” the students exhibited and pitched innovative business ideas that aimed to address societal and environmental challenges through sustainable solutions.

SEIS2024 marked the culmination of the students’ entrepreneurial learning journey, which involved going through the Design Thinking process to develop their business ideas. The event was coordinated by Dr. Mohd Fairuz bin Abd Rahim and Ms. Diyana binti Abdul Mahad @ Abdul Hamid, the course lecturers guiding the students throughout this journey. The showcase provided the participants with the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of internal and external judges through poster presentations and prototype demonstrations.

During the closing ceremony, five teams were honored with the Best Showcase Award: EduCare Genz, Swiftensil, SafeShield, DreamyGreen, and EasyBox, each recognised for their outstanding innovation and impact. Additionally, a special Best Prototype Award was presented to Ternak, a team that impressed the judges with their creative and practical prototype.

Dr. Hasni binti Mohd Hanafi @ Omar, Deputy Dean of Academic and International Relations at FOM, delivered the closing speech, praising the students for their ingenuity and commitment to addressing real-world issues. Dr. Hasni concluded the ceremony by presenting the awards to all the winners, acknowledging their hard work and inspiring entrepreneurial spirit.

Well done!
